I have visited Ganghwa Island about 10 times, but thanks to our guide's kind guidance, I was able to visit places I had always just passed by. The guide helped me feel completely at ease, even though I was traveling alone, allowing me to communicate seamlessly with the group and enjoy a delightful half-day. One of the group members suggested we have a quick lunch during our free time and visit Joyang Textile Factory. It takes a bit of time to walk there. Sweating profusely, I grabbed an iced Americano to go and returned to our meeting point, Ganghwa Cathedral. As we got off at Gwangseong Fortress, a refreshing breeze blew through the pine forest. We passed by the family cemetery of General Eo, listening to the story of the brothers who defended Ganghwa Island to the very end during the Sinmiyangyo Incident. The history of Ganghwa, which I would have simply overlooked if it weren't for this package tour, and the spirit of martyrdom felt incredibly solemn. The Mirror Garden at Haedeun Art Museum and Jeondeungsa Temple, where every building is said to be a treasure, also left a special impression on me thanks to the guide's explanations. Above all, I would like to thank the wonderful male member who willingly treated us all to iced Americanos, along with the older women I became close with during the trip. Thank you.
