[Chuncheon/1 Night] Gochujang (red chili paste) making experience + Tojong-dak-baeksuk (whole boiled native chicken soup) + Bulmeong (gazing into a campfire) | Moonlight Journey Under Samaksan Mountai
I watched Traveler Jay's YouTube video, booked right away, and went with my family! The accommodation isn't huge, but it has everything you need, such as a refrigerator, TV, and hairdryer. Above all, I could tell they pay close attention to cleanliness. The sign asking guests not to put their bedding in the closet because it is laundered immediately was really reassuring. Upon arrival, we unpacked, listened to a brief introduction to Myeongwol Village, and went on a forest experience while listening to a forest guide. Since it had snowed heavily the day before we went, we used walking sticks and climbed carefully during the forest experience. The mountain path was very slippery due to the snow, so we were scared during the walk, but the guide led us safely, so we were all able to finish the hike without getting hurt! For dinner, they served chicken soup, ginseng, and various side dishes. Honestly, every single dish was so delicious that we refilled the side dishes several times. The sweet pumpkin and sweet potato salad, in particular, was so good that I even asked for the recipe because I thought I would miss it when I got home. The chicken in the Baeksook wasn't dry at all; it was incredibly tender. It seemed like they used high-quality chicken! After dinner, my family and I chatted while staring at the campfire, and we also roasted the sweet potatoes we brought from home. They tasted amazing grilled over charcoal! As night fell, I felt a chill in the room, so I asked the manager to turn up the boiler temperature. They raised it right away, so I slept soundly and warmly. I also thoroughly enjoyed the perilla seed ongsimi for breakfast! The sauce-making experience was also fun. We brought our own makjang (soybean paste), and they kindly advised us to refrigerate it as soon as we arrived home because the contents might burst out. We tried making doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) with the makjang, and it was seriously delicious. It is an unbelievable price to get two meals of this quality included plus the experience. Everyone was so kind to us, making our entire stay a pleasant one. Thank you!
