[Jinju/1 Night] Choncance (rural vacation) Hanwoo (premium Korean beef) Party! Unlimited Makgeolli (traditional Korean rice wine) + DIY Brewing Experience 🥩
We stopped by the Jinju area while traveling through Sacheon, Jinju, and Sancheong in Gyeongsangnam-do. Since the Jinju Lantern Festival was taking place during our trip, we enjoyed it even more. We made makgeolli together. We visited the Jeongsu Gallery and Jeongsu Culture & Arts Village, which were created by renovating a closed school. Although we didn't get to sit there, we saw a pavilion with views of the sports field and rice paddies—a place that makes you want to just lie down and zone out. The host recommended cycling along the bike path, but due to time constraints, we settled for visiting nearby Seongjeonam Temple (recommended for those who are good at driving on mountain roads). They provided 300 grams of Grade 7, 2+ Hanwoo beef per person, so we ate heartily with plenty left over. It was a shame to waste it, but we were too full. We made makgeolli using the secondary sul (a special fermentation starter) prepared by the host and enjoyed kkodeubap made with glutinous rice (I tried a little and it was chewy and delicious). Although the accommodation was slightly lacking, it was a great place to enjoy generous portions of Hanwoo beef, makgeolli, and the nostalgic vibe of a school.
