Nestled gently at the foot of the mountain in Hoengseong, Gangwon-do, Snow-covered Yedawon! A spacious courtyard and icicles rising from beneath the tiled eaves!! Shall I pick those and eat them? We were welcomed into a world of childlike wonder. After observing other teams, we filled our hearts with warmth in cups of tea fragrant with the scent of unknown flowers. We approached the tea ceremony and etiquette with a somewhat serious attitude, like students sitting before a teacher. We learned about the origins of the tea ceremony through hands-on experience. The taste of the vegetables and cheese grown on-site was fantastic. We let out joyful screams at the taste, which made us smile like the face of a woman adorned with flowers atop the healthy, local lotus leaf rice. Furthermore, the sauna with the red clay floor evoked old memories and led us into a frenzy of chatter. We spent the snow-covered white night giggling and roaring with laughter, embroidering the night sky. We leave with a rest that serves as a ray of light amidst the complexities and darkness of the city. I realized that letting go and emptying oneself comes from this kind of leisure. It was a healing 1-night, 2-day trip where we absorbed the energy radiating from the space called Ye-Da-Won, learned health and wisdom, and found healing. May the four seasons be beautiful.
