[Muju] Kkotpineun Sangol Farm (Blooming Mountain Valley Farm) | Gochujang Experience + Smoked BBQ + Private Detached House 🌺🍖
Day 1 of Healing~ You know how much of a comfort and happiness it is to have a like-minded friend as you get older, right? Hahaha. Especially if you’ve passed the age of fifty and are now well past half a century(?). You probably also know that it’s quite different from having a partner who is always by your side, haha. To escape our daily routines a little and find some <rest> with such a friend, we chose Muju. As soon as we arrived, we both kept exclaiming "Wow!" and gasping in amazement. Since we arrived a bit late, we participated in the apple gochujang making experience, listening attentively to the instructions as we made it. It was truly fascinating; I made the gochujang in no time! ^^ They even taught us how to package it beautifully, so I held a batch of gochujang close to my heart that is truly one of a kind. Hahaha. One side of the experience area was filled with massive succulent pots and lush green plants. We giggled, took photos, and played for quite a while. It was so much so that we were sad to see the time passing. When we entered the accommodation, the warmth and coziness were the best. As we chatted and looked around every nook and cranny, I could feel the owners' meticulous attention to detail. Before I knew it, dinner was served with the care and dedication of the two busy staff members. A bottle of bokbunja wine, prepared alongside the barbecue grilled on a cast-iron lid, was placed on the table. Haha. The homemade pickled garlic and chili peppers were a fantastic match for the barbecue. It was the kind of taste that makes you crave another glass of bokbunja? Haha. (I'm not good at drinking, so I was a bit disappointed haha. Seriously!) Just as we were finishing our plates, the owners prepared a campfire for us to enjoy in the yard. Even though I was full, the roasted sweet potatoes went right into my mouth haha. Looking up at the sky, the stars looked so beautiful. It was a bit chilly, but I didn't want to go inside haha. The four of us—the two owners and me—sat around and talked for a long time, laughing a great deal. Did we look a bit lonely since there were only two of us? But my friend and I really enjoyed being so comfortable with the two of you. Haha. (I felt a bit bad, though; since we arrived late, you probably couldn't get any rest early because you were busy getting ready and cleaning.) It was enough to make me feel sad that the deepening winter night was over~ After thanking the two of you and entering our room, the warmth filled the air, and I felt my fatigue melt away on its own. It felt like heaven after taking a shower with warm water. When I travel, I sometimes struggle with weak water pressure or the temperature. Also, I tend to use a bit too much water (Shh! It's a secret). Like when washing my hair, haha. I have long hair, you see. With 70s and 80s music playing, and us both putting on face masks, lying down in the living room in the most comfortable position imaginable, I thought to myself, "This is truly heaven." The owner's wife even lent us her Bluetooth speaker, haha. The absolute best thing about Wase here was the sleeping arrangements. I wonder if the owner's wife is a cotton fabric enthusiast, because the curtains, decorations, and bedding at the stay are all made of cotton. I like cotton fabric too because I love that crisp, rustling feel, haha. It does take a bit of effort, though. Since I get cold easily, I was a little worried the bed might be cold, but that was unnecessary worry, haha. I slept like a baby, haha. I slept like a baby~~ Day 2 of Healing~ Perhaps because I slept soundly until dawn, I felt refreshed even though I woke up early. I can see Deogyusan Mountain in the distance, and the winter sun is slowly shining on the stay. After taking a warm shower, the owner's wife had prepared a wonderful brunch for me. She cut the fruit so beautifully, served toast toasted crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and even provided warm soup. I filled up on the soft-boiled eggs she prepared, and enjoyed my favorite yogurt topped with blueberries she grew herself, haha. My friend and I kept saying how delicious it was! We emptied our plates, exclaiming in delight. I heard they made the fig and apple jams themselves. It felt a shame to waste them, so we cleaned the plates completely, haha. It’s almost check-out time already. The kind owner packed us a little bit of what she called "country-style soybean paste" to try, and before we left, she even packed us a bag of quince each. Thank you so much! ♡♡ She also gave us a succulent plant at a discounted price. After thanking her and exchanging silent promises with my friend to definitely come back, our stay is slowly fading away. I only slept for one night, but it felt like I had rested for days. Goodbye, Muju Healing Stay, a place I definitely want to visit again on a day with a gentle spring breeze and beautiful autumn sunshine. ♡
