[Sangju/Same-day] Traditional Korean Full Meal + Hanok Tea Ceremony + Dried Persimmon Muffin Baking
It felt strange to set foot in the city of Sangju for the first time... I doubted whether it was worth driving four hours just for a two or three-hour experience. Still, determined to give it a try, I took a day off from work on Monday, attended the 6:30 AM early morning Mass at the church, and by the time I finished tidying up the house, it was 2:30 PM when we finally left. (Ugh!) As the sun began to set and darkness fell, we were all exhausted. We booked a place to stay, slept, woke up, skipped the hotel breakfast, and drove straight there. It was just over 20 minutes from downtown Sangju... The result was extremely satisfying. I polished off a two-person portion in no time thanks to the truly heartfelt, neat, and elegant side dishes. (Blush blush~~) While participating in the tea ceremony and dried persimmon muffin making experience, I chatted away with people I met for the first time and even became KakaoTalk friends with them. It’s not easy for a woman to travel alone and enjoy delicious food, but this place was tranquil and cozy, and there were also many hidden tourist spots nearby. I also really want to thank the host for their warmth and friendliness, which felt just like an older sister, an aunt, and a neighbor. It was a truly grateful program that allowed me to spend a happy day. I returned promising to definitely come back if I get the chance. Thank you^^
